Laurel Holloman successfully launched herself into the upper-most echelon of girl-girl greats with the 2004 debut of the now-famous Showtime seriesThe L Word, on which she plays the panty-soaking partner of Flashdance dazzler Jennifer Beals. These two lovelies made it clear (not-so) straight off that The L Word would be a major leap forward in the annals of realistically naked entertainment, as the opening episode featured Laurel’s character Tina Kennard bathing bare during a sumptuous skinny-dip scene, followed by graphic Sapphic sex scenes that go on…and on…and on and only gets hotter along the way. But even before all L broke loose, the blonde, North Carolina native achieved cinematic lesbian luminary status for her work as pixie-haired Randy Dean (love the name!) in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love (1995). She’s equally impressive with a male lover, as seen by her brazen, bra-clad turn as Sheryl Lynn in Boogie Nights (1997). Bare breasts aside, Laurel has an impressive body of work in dresses, T-shirts and even jeans. Check her out in the television realm as Karen Matlin in That’s Life in 2001, as Justine Cooper in Angel in 2001-2002, as Sandy Allen in Castle in 2009 and as RaeAnne Colvin in Gigantic in 2010. The lush lady was a bit skincognito for several years, but luckily, the 5’7”, who is also a painting artist, turned up to reprise her role in 2020 as Tina in the sequel series L Word: Generation Q.
